The new Engadget
Have you seen the new Engadget?
One of my favorite sites got a redesign today. I love redesigns. I am one of those few people who actually like new facebook versions. Anyway, one has to admit that the old Engadget’s design wasn’t the best. Content was 1A, but for instance, finding info about the team behind the site wasn’t an easy task. The homepage was cluttered and navigation was unclear. I’m not saying that these issues are 100% resolved with the new design, but it’s way better now. Engadget was able to build upon their positive points and to deliver something fresh, clear and well designed while keeping the old version’s feel.
Redesign seems to be trendy these days: Google is rumored to adopt the Wave feel across its apps, yahoo and msn got one, and so did Vimeo.
But why don’t you have a look for yourself?

I just checked it out, and I have the impression it WILL have an impact on my browsing habits. I've always liked Engadget but I've never been able stick to it. Only time will tell if the new layout and look will make a difference for me.
I agree with you for Facebook btw. These petitions are from people who don't want to try to understand WHY the team made a change. They've always turned out for the better
Yup. I'm waiting for a Gizmodo redesign. Damn, that day will be a good one. They've updated their comments system not too long ago, and I'm still trying to figure it out.
How do you like ours btw? I managed to add borders (or padding, in CSS FTW!). I'm quite satisfied with it.
